Elk

Borderland Outfitters offers a 6 day (archery) and 5 day (rifle and muzzleloader) New Mexico elk hunt. We offer private land tags in South Central New Mexico,  as well as guide services on public land throughout New Mexico and in the Gila National Forest, units 15, 16 A, B, C, D, E and 17. Your hunt can be booked as fully outfitted, guided only, and drop camp options are available. You can expect hunting on foot,  by horse, mule, ATV or truck. The Gila Wilderness consists of millions of acres in South West New Mexico and was established on June 3, 1924. Wilderness land does not allow motorized or mechanized vehicles, including bicycles. Camping, fishing, and hunting  are allowed with the proper permits/tags during certain months of the year, but no roads, buildings, logging, or mining are permitted.

Bear

This fully-guided hunt is an action-packed adventure that can go from 0-100 mph in an instant! Our bear hunt is offered either with hounds or with a spot and stalk option, but please note that hounds are prohibited in September. This is a difficult hunt, so you must be in good physical condition, and due to the level of difficulty, no youth hunts are offered. Travel is done by truck, quad, mule, horse or on foot. Camp and lodging is included in the price but can be unpredictable. 

* Archery bear hunt only available in combination with a September elk tag.

Bighorn Sheep

Whether you choose the fully-outfitted or guided-only option, your hunt will also include skinning or rough caping, and quartering once your big-horn sheep is down. With this hunt you can expect a lot of glassing and hunting on steep terrain. This is a great option for youth hunts. You will need to draw a public tag for this hunt, and we will guide anywhere you draw a public tag.

This is a great option for the youth hunter! We have land-owner tags available in southern New Mexico, and we will guide anywhere in New Mexico on a public tag.

In 1970, New Mexico Game and Fish imported 15 Persian Ibex from Iran and released them in the Florida Mountains near Deming, NM. The population is now thriving. The ibex hunt is one of the most physically demanding and toughest hunts that takes you over rough terrain, but it is very rewarding. Whether you choose the fully-outfitted or guided-only option, your hunt includes skinning, rough caping, and quartering once your Ibex is down. This is a great option for the youth hunter!
