In 1970, New Mexico Game and Fish imported 15 Persian Ibex from Iran and released them in the Florida Mountains near Deming, NM. The population is now thriving. The ibex hunt is one of the most physically demanding and toughest hunts that takes you over rough terrain, but it is very rewarding.
